Las Vegas police need help in identifying injured bicyclist

Las Vegas police need help identifying the bicyclist who was injured after he was hit by a car Thursday afternoon near Bonanza Road and Nellis Boulevard.

A 2006 Ford Fusion, eastbound on Bonanza near Prescott Street, struck the bicyclist, who was riding a silver BMX-style bicycle, about 3:30 p.m. The bike rider was southbound in a marked crosswalk on Bonanza.

The bicyclist was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition.

The driver of the Ford, a 24-year-old man, suffered minor injuries and stayed at the scene.

Police described the bicyclist as black or Pacific Islander in his late late teens to early 20s with curly dark brown hair. He is 6 feet tall and weighs 180 pounds.
