Man and woman struck by vehicle, killed Friday identified

A man and a woman who died after being struck in a hit and run crash on Friday have been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Terry Westbrook, 71, and Charlotte Westbrook, 74, died from multiple blunt force trauma injuries due to being hit by a motor vehicle.

The Westbrooks, residents of Kennesaw, Georgia, were crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk by the Rio, on South Valley View Boulevard north of West Flamingo Road, when they were struck by a vehicle just after 10 p.m., Las Vegas police said.

Police believe a dark-colored Nissan sedan was traveling south on Valley View when it struck the pedestrians, who were crossing Valley View from east to west. The Westbrooks died on the scene.

The driver of the sedan fled west on Flamingo Road without stopping, police said in a release early Saturday morning.
