Man dead after downtown apartment shooting

A man is dead after a shooting Friday night in a downtown Las Vegas apartment, according to police.

Metro officers responded about 8:30 p.m. to reports of gunshots in an apartment in the 200 block of South Sixth Street. Inside the apartment they found a man who had died of multiple gunshot wounds, police said Saturday.

A preliminary investigation indicates an argument took place in the apartment just before shots were fired, police said. Two males were seen leaving the area on foot.

Police said more detailed descriptions of the two males were not available.

The person who died will be identified by the Clark County coroner’s office after his family has been notified, the release said.

This was the 27th homicide in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
