Man killed in crash at Las Vegas Convention Center

A man is dead and a woman and man were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Friday night at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas police said.

First responders were called shortly before 10 p.m. to 3150 Paradise Road, near Convention Center Drive. A red 2011 Lincoln Navigator going east in the westbound lanes of Convention Center Drive crashed into a pillar at the convention center entrance, Metro Lt. Kendell Bell said.

The driver, 21-year-old Randy Flores, and two passengers, a 21-year-old woman and 58-year-old man, were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. The 58-year-old North Las Vegas man died at the hospital, police wrote in a release early Saturday morning.

Flores and the woman who had been sitting in the front passenger seat suffered serious injuries.

The woman told police Flores was involved in a "'road-rage' type incident moments before the collision," the release said.

The man who died will be identified by the Clark County coroner's office after his family has been notified.

This is the 72nd traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year. Police are investigating the crash and the woman's claim that road-rage was involved.
