So far, this June hottest on record

The first three weeks of June are in the books, and it has been the hottest on record according to the National Weather Service.

From June 1-20, the average temperature was 90.7 degrees, a 5.5-degree increase from the average during this time of year.

The previous record for the first three weeks of June was 89.2 degrees in 1996.

Friday’s high is expected to be 99 with a low of 78. Winds are expected to be between 10-15 miles per hour with gusts up to 21 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.
