Three people displaced, one dog dead in east valley fire

Three people were displaced from their east valley home and a dog was found dead after a fire Tuesday evening, the Clark County Fire Department said.

Firefighters were called just after 6 p.m. to a one-story home at 4009 Olive St., near Charleston and Lamb boulevards, Clark County Assistant Fire Chief Sandra Baker wrote in a statement.

After they extinguished the blaze at 6:17 p.m., crews found one of the family's three dogs dead inside the home, the release said.

No people were injured and the other two dogs weren't hurt. American Red Cross responded to help the three people displaced by the fire's damage.

The fire's cause, origin and estimated cost of damage have not been determined yet, Baker wrote in the statement.
