Toddler who died in NLV identified by coroner’s office

The Clark County coroner’s office on Saturday identified the 1-year-old boy who died in North Las Vegas earlier in the week, prompting a police investigation.

Officers on Monday found Hadriel Fawkes Darnell, 1, of North Las Vegas, unconscious in the 4900 block of Goldeneye Way, near Camino Al Norte and West Lone Mountain Road, North Las Vegas police said on Friday.

Hadriel was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition and died on Thursday, police said. His cause of death was still pending, the coroner said.

The death is being investigated by police who are waiting for the coroner’s report before providing additional information, police spokesman officer Steven Wiese said on Saturday.
