Two arrested in Las Vegas in connection with Pahrump casino shooting

Two people have been arrested in connection with a shooting at a Pahrump casino which occurred just after midnight Saturday, police said.

Lee Anthony Daniels, 46, and Desiree Lewis, 36, were arrested after fleeing to Las Vegas from Pahrump, according to a release from the Nye County Sheriff's Office. They face charges which include possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, discharge of a weapon in a casino, battery with a deadly weapon, and attempted murder.

According to police, just after midnight Saturday a shooting occurred inside the Pahrump Nugget Hotel-Casino cafe after a reported verbal altercation took place between a black adult man and a woman who has not been identified. The man fired one round, police said. None of the bystanders were injured, but the female victim sustained a non-life threatening injury to one of her legs, police said in a release.

The Nye County Sheriff's Office said in the release that arrest warrants were obtained for Daniels and Lewis and the two were arrested with the help of Las Vegas Metropolitan police.

Daniels and Lewis are currently being detained at the Nye County Detention Center.
