Woman killed in minivan crash identified

A woman who died in a crash between a tractor-trailer and minivan early Friday morning was identified Saturday by the Clark County coroner's office.

Las Vegas police were called just after midnight Friday to Russell Road at Frank Sinatra Drive where a Nissan minivan failed to stop at a red light and collided with the left side of a semitrailer that was turning left onto Russell from the south exit of Mandalay Bay.

The Nissan was lodged under the front of the truck and was partially protruding from the other side of the trailer.

The driver of the Nissan, identified by the coroner's office as 39-year-old Irene Harris, of Las Vegas, died at the scene, police said.

This is the 97th traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
