Woman killed in rollover crash near Strip identified

The woman who died in a rollover crash near the Strip Saturday morning has been identified by the Clark County coroner's office.

She is 35-year-old Lanier D. Thompson, staff said Sunday.

The single-vehicle crash happened about 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Paradise Road and Sands Avenue.

Thompson was driving eastbound on Sands in a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, west of Paradise, when her vehicle left the road, struck a group of trees and overturned, police said Saturday.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner's office will determine the cause and manner of her death.

This is the 56th traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction in 2015.
