Pedestrian struck, killed by pickup on I-15 identified

A Las Vegas man who died after being struck by a car on Interstate 15 in North Las Vegas last Saturday night has been identified.

A pedestrian, Anthony Jomar Reeves, 42, of Las Vegas, succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash and was pronounced deceased on scene.

The preliminary investigation indicated that a red 2025 Dodge Ram 1500 Lone Star pickup was eastbound on Lake Mead Boulevard 147, approaching the southbound I-15 on-ramp, when a

pedestrian outside a marked crosswalk entered the roadway from the south curb. The driver of the Dodge attempted evasive action by steering right to avoid the pedestrian, but was unsuccessful, striking the pedestrian with the Dodge’s left front, accortding to a news release.

Nevada Highway Patrol said Reeves was struck by a vehicle on the southbound on-ramp of Interstate 15 at Lake Mead Boulevard around 11:30 p.m.

The death was the third traffic-related fatality in the Nevada Highway Patrol Southern Command’s jurisdiction in 2025.
