Cooler temps, chance of rain in Las Vegas Valley weekend

Updated May 5, 2017 - 8:59 pm

The Las Vegas Valley could see rain and a 30-degree drop in temperatures this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

While Friday hit a high of 100 degrees — the first triple-digit temperature of the year — Saturday’s high is expected to drop to 87 degrees, weather service meteorologist Kate Guillet said.

Temperatures will continue to cool to an expected low of 57 Saturday evening as winds pick up and possible showers and isolated thunderstorms move into the valley. Residents can expect a high Sunday of 69 degrees with a low of 54 and a continued 20- to 30-percent chance of precipitation.

The new week will start out cool and gradually warm up, with a forecast high of 75 degrees for Monday, 80 for Tuesday and 83 for Wednesday, the weather service said.
