Low-pressure system brings cooler temperatures, chance of rain

Temperatures in the Las Vegas Valley are leveling as a low-pressure weather system, which caused recent storms, passes over the area.

Wednesday is expected to reach a high of 78 and a low of 61. These temperatures will remain consistent with highs around 80 and lows in the 60s for the rest of the week, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Chad Shafer.

Showers are scattered along the Interstate 15 corridor Wednesday morning and may stick around for the rest of the day, according to the National Weather Service.

The system traveled from California to Arizona and Las Vegas is experiencing the cooler, dryer side of the system now, Shafer said.

Any amount of precipitation is unusual for this time of year, according to the weather service. The valley saw about 0.04 inches of precipitation early Wednesday.
