BOYS BASKETBALL: Miguel Pena’s three-point play lifts Tech to win

Miguel Pena’s three-point play in the closing seconds gave Tech’s boys basketball team a 53-51 win over host Bonanza on Monday.

Pena, who had 15 points, took a baseball pass with about six seconds left and converted the layup and was fouled.

Jurelle Orbino added 11 points for the Roadrunners.

Bonanza’s Brandon Noone led all scorers with 18 points. Chase Hafen added 17 points for the Bengals.

Del Sol 70, Pahrump Valley 46 — At Del Sol, Mekhi Duncan scored 15 points as the Dragons downed the Trojans.

Manny Chavez added 10 points for Del Sol, which outscored Pahrump 39-13 in the middle quarters to take control.

Bryce Odegard led the Trojans with 15 points, and teammate Antonio Fortin scored 13.
