Edmond ran the 100 meters in 11.84 seconds on Saturday at Desert Oasis to secure the Moutain Region championship — and an automatic bid to the Class 4A state meet next week. Teammate Aniya Smith finished second in 12.11, and Centennial’s Quincy Bonds ran 12.16 for third.
With a talented group of underclassmen, Coronado scored 449 points Friday to roll to the Class 4A Desert Region title at UNLV.
The Cougars finished with 452 points to claim the title. Green Valley finished second with 444 points, and Bishop Gorman finished third with 284 points.

Chris Jepson had 13 kills and four blocks Wednesday to help Basic’s boys volleyball team outlast visiting Spring Valley, 25-20, 16-25, 16-25, 25-15, 15-13.
