Roundup: Pair of homers power Spring Valley comeback

Chryshelle Abril-Ryan and Brianna Villarreal each homered for Spring Valley’s softball team Thursday as the Grizzlies rallied to beat visiting Bonanza, 8-7.

Bonanza led 4-2 after four innings, but the Grizzlies scored six runs in the fifth to take the lead. The Bengals scored three in sixth for the game’s final margin.

Carla LaRosa homered for Bonanza, and teammate Holli Jackson had a double.

Liberty 12, Rancho 5 — At Liberty, Jasmine Gonzalez and Jordan LaSpina each tripled as the Patriots knocked off the Rams.

McKenzie LaNeve had two doubles, and Morgan LaNeve doubled once for Liberty.

Liliana Gutierrez and Yvette Sanchez each tripled for the Rams, who got a double from Gianna Carosone.

Basic 9, Eldorado 0 — At Basic, Shelby Basso threw a two-hit shutout and went 2-for-3 with an RBI to power the Wolves over the Sundevils.

Jordan Stinnett had a double and two RBIs for Basic, and Sanoe Helenihi and Jordan Stinnett each doubled for the Wolves.

Basic’s Angela Santillanes went 2-for-3.

Durango 16, Bishop Gorman 3 — At Gorman, Trinity Valentine earned the win in the circle with seven strikeouts, and was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs as the Trailblazers routed the Gaels in five innings.

Isabel Perez, Keely Thompson, and Alexis Geraldo each supplied two hits for Durango.

Mia Weckel went 2-for-2 with two runs to pace Gorman.

Coronado 16, Las Vegas 6 — At Coronado, Tatum Spangler struck out 12 over five innings to lead the Cougars past the Wildcats.

Spangler also went 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBIs for the Cougars.

Aleah Baldonado tripled and drove in three runs, and Willow Bachiochi went 2-for-2 with a RBI for Coronado, which scored nine runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to end the game.

Nicole Forrest went 2-for-3 with a double, a two-run homer and three RBIs, and Skylar Gorrell tripled and drove in three runs for the Wildcats.

Shadow Ridge 13, Arbor View 3 — At Shadow Ridge, Alisha Schultz was 2-for-3 with a double and five RBIs, and Shea Clements had two hits, including a three-run home run, as the Mustangs defeated the Aggies in five innings.

Caitlyn Covington went 3-for-3 with a double for Shadow Ridge, which got the win from Alyssa Stanley.

Kaylea Patridge supplied two hits and a run for Arbor View.

Green Valley 11, Foothill 1 — At Green Valley, Olivia McClain was 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and three runs as the Gators took down the Falcons in six innings.

Cinthia Garcia was 3-for-3 with a triple, three runs and two RBIs for the Gators, and teammate Savannah Fabro was 3-for-3 with an RBI.

Savannah Stevenson was 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Falcons.

Pahrump Valley 23, Cheyenne 13 — At Cheyenne, Evandy Murphy and Jacquellen Stobbe each had five RBIs to lead the Trojans past the Desert Shields in five innings.

Murphy finished the game 3-for-5 with a double and a triple, and Stobbe finished 3-for-5 with a double.

Hannah Tennant hit a two-run homer to lead the Desert Shields.

Mojave 18, Desert Pines 2 — At Mojave, Emilee Mitton had a triple and five RBIs as the Rattlers trounced the Jaguars in four innings.

Jessica Ortiz had a double and four RBIs, and Essence McRae had a double and two RBIs for Mojave

Mileen Anderson chipped in a pair of RBIs for the Rattlers.

Sierra Vista 16, Clark 1 — At Sierra Vista, Daelyn Hilton had a home run, three RBIs and two runs as the Mountain Lions routed the Chargers in three innings.

Ryan Watkins tripled, and Tyerra Kaaialii doubled for Sierra Vista. Jazmyn Martinez and Sarena Lopez each scored three runs for the Mountain Lions.

Jagayra Gomez scored Clark’s run.

Silverado 22, Canyon Springs 2 — At Canyon Springs, Dalyse Whiteside was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, four RBIs and three runs to lead the Skyhawks in a four-inning win over the Pioneers.

Jessica Boothe had a home run, three RBIs and three runs for the Skyhawks, and Megan Johnson tripled and scored three times.

Skylah McDowell tripled for Canyon Springs.
