Sunny skies and warmer temperatures expected in Las Vegas Valley

The Las Vegas Valley can expect sunny skies and warmer temperatures for the rest of the workweek, but clouds are expected to roll in for the weekend, National Weather Service meteorologist John Salmen said.

Wednesday saw a high temperature 78 degrees, meteorologist John Salmen said.

“Today was the first day that we saw normal highs drop below 80. By Halloween, the average high temperature will be 74,” he said.

Highs for the remainder of the week are forecast to reach 83 on Thursday, 86 on Friday and 88 onSaturday and 86 on Sunday, Salmen said. By Monday, temperatures should cool off slightly with a high of 79.

The weather service expects winds to be fairly light through Saturday and pick up on Sunday. Kicking off next week, winds speeds are expected to range from 15 to 25 mph, averaging around 20 mph.
