Mesquite to get full-service repair station for commercial, recreational vehicles

A Decatur, Ind., company plans to start construction this fall on a full-service repair station for commercial and recreational vehicles in Mesquite.

The company, REV Group, last week announced plans to build a 40,000- to 80,000- square-foot service station for vehicles there.

It closed on 11.3 acres in January with the intention of building out in the future, but is now weighing whether or not to build an 80,000-square-foot facility outright, according to Lisa Hauger, vice president of Sun Commercial Real Estate which represents Rev Group.

”They believe it’s going to be a very active site for them,” said Hauger.

The site, located just off Interstate 15 will benefit from a new direct exit from I-15 that is expected to be completed this summer. Without the new Exit 118, the nearest exits would be roundabout exits that are more difficult for large vehicles to navigate, Lisa Hauger said.

A 40,000-square-foot Mesquite facility would create about 50 full-time jobs in service tech and administration over four years. That number could rise to more than 70 if plans for the bigger facility moves forward. The facility expects to receive 1,500 to 2,500 service appointments annually.

The cost of the project was not disclosed.

Rev Group has more than 5,600 employees nationwide and produces about 19,000 vehicles annually.

The company produces RVs, commercial vehicles and fire and emergency vehicles. Rev Group also has service stations in Oregon, Indiana and Texas. The construction would also create an undetermined number of temporary jobs.
