THE HABIT BURGER GRILL, 365 HUGHES CENTER DRIVE

The Habit Burger Grill, a link in the chain founded in Santa Barbara, Calif., in 1969, opened Aug. 12. The 86-seat fast-casual restaurant includes a communal table indoors and an outdoor patio. Burgers are chargrilled over an open flame, tri-tip is trimmed and marinated in-house, ranch dressing is prepared in-house daily, salads are made to order and there's a condiment bar with peppers, lemons, limes and sauces. Here's a sample of the menu:

Burgers: Charburger, $3.10 ($6.85 with fries and regular drink); Double Char, $4.10 ($7.85 with fries and regular drink); teriyaki char (with grilled pineapple), $3.40; barbecue bacon char, $4.40; mushroom char (with melted cheese), $4.65; Santa Barbara Style (Double Char with cheese and avocado on grilled sourdough), $5.90.

Grilled sandwiches: Chicken, $5.95; tri-tip steak, $6.95; albacore tuna fillet, $6.95; veggie burger, $4.95; chicken club, $6.95.
