Libre will open Friday at Red Rock Resort, 11011 W. Charleston Blvd. From Clique Hospitality, it'll serve Mexican-style food and specialty cocktails, such as Carne Asada Skirt Steak and Bubbling Queso Fundido. Family fun
The whole family can let the good times roll at Mardi Gras Vegas from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd. The celebration will include Southern-style food, a beer garden for grown-ups, crafts for kids and live music. Admission is $6, free for kids 2 and younger.

Slip away with your honey for a cocktail at the Art Bar in the lobby of the Downtown Grand, 206 N. Third St. Its current menu includes The Green Muse, which is Skyy Strawberry Vodka and Mother's sour apple, briefly smoked with applewood and served over a sour-apple ice sphere, and Absinthe on Fire, absinthe prepared in the traditional style, lightly chilled and sweetened, using a drip canister and a flat pierced spoon.
