This week’s 5 best bets for dining in Las Vegas

For friends

Friends gotta stick together, right? Eh? Eh? So maybe you should get together with some of your friends … and, er, associates … and go to Oscar’s at the Plaza for the RICO Burger (and, yes, it was named by the man himself). A summer special, it’s a half-pound of beef on a brioche bun with Muenster cheese, tomato chutney, crisp onions, spicy pickles, arugula and smoked bacon, and you can get it with a domestic beer for $20. Which might be a deal you can’t refuse.

Something new

If you feel the need for refreshment while in the vicinity of Mandalay Bay, check out the new happy hour at Lupo. From 5 to 7 p.m. daily, it includes specials on food such as bruschetta, Pizzetta Bianca and Piatto di Salumi and beverages such as Wolfgang Puck wines, draft beers, select Italian wines and specialty cocktails, all priced at less than $10.

Family fun

This could be the deal of a lifetime: If you have some variation of “ham” or “burger” in your legal name — and this could take in anyone named Hamilton, Brigham, Beckham, Eisenberg or Berger — you can get a free burger between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday at Distill (10820 W. Charleston Blvd. or 4830 W. Pyle Ave.), Elixir (2920 N. Green Valley Parkway in Henderson) or Remedy’s (3265 St. Rose Parkway or 530 Conestoga Way, both in Henderson). Dine-in only and one per qualifying customer, but if you’re a whole family of Burgers …

Solo trip

Churrascaria, or Brazilian steakhouse, probably isn’t the first thing you think of when you’re looking for a quick lunch. But the new Gaucho Lunch at Fogo de Chao at the Hughes Center is all about remedying that. The Market Table & Feijoada Bar with, yes, feijoada, plus soups and salads, vegetables and more is $15. Enjoy that by itself or add some meat — $8 for Picanha, $6 for chicken or $9 for leg of lamb, for example. It’s available on weekdays in the main dining room.

Date night

Date night doesn’t have to be expensive, especially if you have an appreciation for that fine institution known as happy hour. The new happy hour at Grape Street in Downtown Summerlin offers seven wines and seven appetizers for $7 each, plus $7 well drinks and $5 selected shots. The hours to be happy are 3 to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, throughout the entire restaurant.

Highest-ranked pizza restaurants in Las Vegas by diners

People have a lot of opinions on pizza, but given that Americans could eat up to 180 slices in a year, it only makes sense that all details are considered when choosing a go-to local spot.
