1 adult, 2 children displaced after apartment fire

An adult and two children were displaced Wednesday afternoon after an apartment fire in the south central valley.

The fire started about 4:30 p.m. in the ground floor apartment at 1053 Lisbon Ave., near Desert Inn Road and Maryland Parkway, assistant Clark County fire chief Larry Haydu said.

The county sent at least four engines to respond, and later requested another engine due to the afternoon’s excessive heat warning.

The fire was knocked down at 4:41 p.m. Damages were about $25,000.

The cause of the fire is unclear. American Red Cross volunteers assisted with the people displaced.
