Two people were hospitalized after they were struck by a car in the central valley Monday morning, Las Vegas police said.

A teenage boy and another pedestrian were involved in the crash that happened about 6:30 a.m. in the intersection of Bonita and Burnham avenues, near Eastern and St. Louis avenues, Metro officer Larry Hadfield said.

They were taken to University Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries.

The female driver of the car that hit the pedestrians ran away from the scene and has not been apprehended, Hadfield said.
