Coroner names man shot and killed outside northwest valley home

A man who was shot to death on a northwest valley driveway Wednesday night was named Tuesday by the Clark County coroner's office.

He is 32-year-old Aaron Matthews, of Las Vegas, the coroner's office said.

Metro officers were called about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to 4740 Sweeping Glen St., near Lone Mountain Road and Cliff Shadows Parkway, where they found a man dead on the driveway.

Police said Matthews and 54-year-old Catherine Brewington, whom he was dating, had fought just before the shooting.

Matthews died of a gunshot wound of the back, the coroner's office said; his death was ruled a homicide.

Brewington was arrested at the scene and booked into the Clark County Detention Center. She faces one charge of open murder and is being held without bail.
