Man wore clown mask during gas station armed robberies

If he happens to keep wearing his disguise, the man behind the Las Vegas Valley's most recent armed robbery spree will be easy to spot.

He was dressed like a clown, with green hair.

The armed, 5-foot-3-inch man hit three southwest valley gas stations early Wednesday morning, Las Vegas police said. Police are searching for the man, described as 150 pounds and African American.

Officers aren't sure if the green hair was wig. Surveillance video and photos were not available.

In a span of 15 minutes, beginning at 12:30 a.m., the robber hit the businesses at 6085 S. Rainbow Blvd., 4480 S. Durango Dr. and 4495 S. Buffalo Dr., Metro Lt. David Gordon said.

The shortest time it would take to drive the 7.59-mile combined distance between each of the robberies would take 11 minutes, according to Mapquest, leaving the costumed robber just over a minute in each store.

Police are still seeking the man. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or visit www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
