Volunteers renovate transitional housing for Las Vegas homeless teens

Homeless teens walked through the doors of six transitional residences in the Las Vegas Valley on Thursday afternoon to discover renovations and updates to the places they currently call home. All thanks to volunteers from Keller Williams Realty’s local branch.

Zitlalic Salinas, a Squires Elementary fifth-grader, took the stand at North Las Vegas Justice Court to testify about her bicycle being vandalized. Because it was a mock trial, the bike story was made up. Nevertheless, the learning was real.

Public educators honored at Heart of Education Awards

More than 900 Clark County teachers were selected as finalists in an awards ceremony that honored dedication, patience and selflessness. Twenty were each awarded a prize of $5,000 for personal use, $1,000 for their school and a custom medallion.
