Amazon to open kiosk at Fashion Show mall on Las Vegas Strip

Online retail giant Amazon will open a kiosk on the Las Vegas Strip in October.

The kiosk will be inside the Fashion Show shopping center near the intersection with Spring Mountain Road.

Amazon spokeswoman Robin Handaly said the kiosk will sell the Amazon Echo smart speaker, the Echo Show touchscreen, the Amazon Fire TV, Fire tablets and Kindle e-readers, among other devices.

Handaly declined to say how many employees will staff the kiosk, but said they will show customers how to use each item.

“We think that customers will be delighted to try out our most popular devices, including Amazon Echo and Echo Show, as well as learn more about our services and content from onsite Amazon experts,” Handaly said.

The kiosk will match Amazon.com deals. The Seattle-based company has opened about 40 kiosks at malls across the country, but this is the first for Nevada, according to the company’s website.

Though Amazon recently launched a distribution center in North Las Vegas for its online business, the kiosk has nothing to do with that project, Handaly said.

Amazon investments have also impacted local Whole Foods stores following Amazon’s purchase of the grocery chain.
