Las Vegas morning update for Thursday, September 14th — VIDEO

Here are your Thursday morning headlines:

1. A group of prostitutes could soon become co-owners of a brothel in Nye County. Dennis Hof, owner of properties like Moonlite Bunny Ranch, is in talks to buy Chicken Ranch brothel in Pahrump and is offering prostitutes a stake in the company. Hof says the goal is to have the first employee-owned brothel in the world.

2. A 1-year-old with a history of being abused died last week. A report of abuse was filed in May 2016 and the boy, Carter Lopez, was given to the non-offending parent. Lopez was found unresponsive on Sept. 5 and died Sept. 8.

3. A strong thunderstorm hit the western Las Vegas valley Wednesday night. Winds were clocked up to 71 mph, hail was seen in parts of the valley and lightning lit up the night sky. The Fire Department tweeted that two houses may have been hit by lightning.
