Las Vegas morning update for Tuesday, October 17th — VIDEO

Here are your Tuesday morning headlines:

1. A man was shot early Monday morning as he was on his way to morning mass. Officers received a call about a man down outside Iglesia La Luz del Mundo at the intersection of Eastern and Cedar avenues. The man, who was in his mid-40s, was taken to UMC and died shortly after.

2. Lawyers for a poker player who exchanged $3 million during a game at Aria said they’re still going after the money that wasn’t returned, despite a ruling that the transaction was an unenforceable gambling debt. A judge threw out 8 of 10 claims for a lawsuit over the money, but said Matthew Kirk could pursue the money he believes Leon Tsoukernik owes him.

3. Clark County is taking the first steps in installing 700 steel posts along the Las Vegas Strip. County staff has said the steel bollards can stop a flatbed truck traveling 55 mph. County representatives say the bollards are expected to be installed by New Year’s Eve.
