Las Vegas morning update for Wednesday, October 18th — VIDEO

Here are your Wednesday morning headlines:

1. After avoiding media attention, Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos will appear on “The Ellen Degeneres Show” Wednesday afternoon. MGM Resorts International said in a statement early Tuesday that Campos would “tell his story at a time and place of his choosing.” Degeneres announced the appearance late Tuesday. Campos, along with maintenance worker Stephen Schuck, will describe their experiences the night of October 1.

2. The father of Las Vegas shooting victim Andrea Castilla has filed a wrongful death lawsuit. The lawsuit alleges negligence against MGM Resorts International, assault and emotional distress against Stephen Paddock’s estate, and gross negligence against bump stock manufacturer Slide Fire. The attorney representing the family said “the incident was completely avoidable.”

3. A Las Vegas Halloween display seemingly makes a reference to the Oct. 1 mass shooting. A photo posted to Facebook Tuesday night shows a faux cemetery with 58 headstones in front of a “Vegas Strong” banner. The location of the display was undisclosed.
