Winter weather yields rain, outages in Southern Nevada

The winter storm that rolled into Las Vegas on Thursday left several homes without power overnight, but it has since been restored.

The storm, which officially dropped 0.29 inches of rain Thursday, was cited for multiple crashes and at least three significant power outages.

According to NV Energy, power outages late Thursday night and early Friday morning at Sahara Avenue and Sandhill Road, Sahara Avenue and Lindell Road, and Washington Avenue and Pecos Road were all results of the storm.

It hasn't been all bad news from the storm, though.

The Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort is reporting 13 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours.

Another smaller storm is expected in the Las Vegas area later in this evening, according to the National Weather Service.
