2 hurt in paratransit bus crash in southwest Las Vegas

A small paratransit bus collided with a dump truck and landed on its side Monday morning in the southwestern Las Vegas Valley.

Metropolitan Police Department officers and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue crews responded at 8:10 a.m. to the intersection of West Oakey and South Rainbow boulevards, where they found the small RTC paratransit bus on its side, department spokesman Aden OcampoGomez said.

At least two people were transported to an area hospital with injuries that weren’t life threatening, Metro spokesman Larry Hadfield said.

At 10:50 a.m., another crash involving two vehicles occurred at the same intersection. Hadfield said the collision did not appear to be related to the 8:10 a.m. crash. No injuries were reported in the second crash.
