2015 All-State Boys Tennis Team

First team

Aaron Bailey, Bishop Gorman

The sophomore won the clinching tiebreaker in the Gaels' 10-9 win over Palo Verde in the Division I state final. He finished as the runner-up in the state tournament in singles.

Mackay Boman, Green Valley

The senior won the Sunrise Region singles title, defeating Foothill's Billy Crawford, 6-3, 6-3 in the final. He helped the Gators finish second in the Sunrise Region team tournament.

Billy Crawford, Foothill

The senior finished fourth in the Division I state singles tournament. He was the runnerup in the Sunrise Region in singles.

Skylar Davidson, Bishop Gorman

The senior teamed with Sam Sholeff to finish second in the Division I state doubles tournament. After also finishing second in the Sunset Region doubles tourney, he helped the Gaels win the state team title.

Ben Gajardo, Desert Oasis

The junior finished third in the Division I state singles tournament, falling in a thrilling three-set match to eventual champion Dylan Levitt in the semifinals. He finished second in the Sunset Region singles tournament.

Sam Grant, Coronado

The senior teamed with Ryland McDermott to win the Division I state doubles title, downing 2014 champions Skylar Davidson and Sam Sholeff. He also helped the Cougars to their 11th straight Sunrise Region title.

Dylan Levitt, Palo Verde

The junior won the Division I state singles title for the second time in three years. Also the Sunset Region singles champion, he helped the Panthers to a second-place finish in the state.

Ryland McDermott, Coronado

The senior teamed with Sam Grant to win the Division I state doubles title, downing 2014 champions Skylar Davidson and Sam Sholeff, 6-4, 6-0. He also helped the Cougars to their 11th straight Sunrise Region title.

Christian Ong, Clark

The senior teamed with Marcus Pasimio to win the Division I-A boys doubles title. After winning the Southern Region doubles title with Pasimio, he helped the Chargers win their fourth consecutive Division I-A state title.

Marcus Pasimio, Clark

The junior teamed with Christian Ong to win his second straight Division I-A boys doubles title. After winning the Southern Region doubles title with Ong, he helped the Chargers win their fourth consecutive Division I-A state title.

Michael Pasimio, Clark

The sophomore won his second straight Division I-A singles title, dropping just eight games in six sets in the state tournament. The Southern Region singles champ also helped the Chargers win their fourth consecutive state title.

Mike Safbom, Palo Verde

The freshman teamed with Brandon Sulzberg to win the Sunset Region doubles tournament, then finished third in the state tournament. He helped the Panthers finish second in the state team tournament.

Sam Sholeff, Bishop Gorman

The senior teamed with Skylar Davidson to finish second in the Division I state doubles tournament. After also finishing second in the Sunset Region doubles tourney, he helped the Gaels win the state team title.

Brandon Sulzberg, Palo Verde

The junior teamed with Mike Safbom to win the Sunset Region doubles tournament, then finished third in the state tournament. He helped the Panthers finish second in the state team tournament.

Andy Beckstrand, Moapa Valley

The senior teamed with Koby Frei to finish second in the Division I-A state doubles tournament. Beckstrand and Frei also finished second in the Southern Region doubles tournament.

Riley Boyden, Reno

The junior teamed with Ian Rinehart to win the Division I Northern Region doubles title over teammates Benjamin Vincze and Cameron Young, 6-2, 6-3. He helped the Huskies win the Northern Region team title.

Ezekiel Brooke, Damonte Ranch

The freshman finished third in the Division I Northern Region singles tournament to earn a berth at state. He helped the Mustangs to a second-place finish in the Northern team tourney.

Natale Castelli, Damonte Ranch

The junior was the Division I Northern Region singles runner-up, falling to teammate Tim Zagar in the title match, 6-1, 6-1. He helped the Mustangs to a second-place finish in the Northern team tourney.

Cole Davidson, Bishop Gorman

The sophomore teamed with Lucas Hammond to finish third in the Sunset Region doubles tournament and advance to the state quarterfinals. He helped the Gaels win the state team title.

Koby Frei, Moapa Valley

The senior teamed with Andy Beckstrand to finish second in the Division I-A state doubles tournament. Beckstrand and Frei also finished second in the Southern Region doubles tournament.

Zach Haas, Truckee

The freshman was the Division I-A state runnerup in singles. He won the Northern Region boys singles title, defeating teammate Ethan Gotts, 6-4, 7-5, and helped the Wolverines to the Northern team title.

Lucas Hammond, Bishop Gorman

The freshman teamed with Cole Davidson to finish third in the Sunset Region doubles tournament and advance to the state quarterfinals. He helped the Gaels win the state team title.

Tristin Hansel, Foothill

The senior teamed with Lukas Werle to finish second in the Sunrise Region doubles tournament.

Kyle Harris, Coronado

The senior finished third in the Sunrise Region singles tournament and helped the Cougars win their 11th straight Sunrise Region team title.

Ainsley Osawa, Western

The senior finished third in the Division I-A state singles tournament. He also finished third in the Southern Region singles tournament.

The senior teamed with Riley Boyden to win the Division I Northern Region doubles title over teammates Benjamin Vincze and Cameron Young, 6-2, 6-3. He helped the Huskies win the Northern Region team title.

The senior teamed with Tristin Hansel to finish second in the Sunrise Region doubles tournament.

Tim Zagar, Damonte Ranch

The junior won the Division I Northern Region singles title, defeating teammate Natale Castelli in the title match, 6-1, 6-1. He helped the Mustangs to a second-place finish in the Northern team tourney.

Coach of the Year

Craig Witcher, Bishop Gorman

The 13th-year head coach led the Gaels to their first state title in 25 years. Gorman finished 15-1 and was a 10-9 winner over Palo Verde in the Division I state final.
