Roundup: Addison Thummel claims deciding set as Falcons beat Wolves

Addison Thummel won the final singles set for Foothill’s girls tennis team on Thursday to clinch a 10-8 home win over Basic.

The doubles teams of Emma Grant and Caitlyn Cooks, Kristel Peralta and Abbey Flinders, and Katherine Peralta and Victoria Bickel were 3-0 for the Falcons.

Basic’s Tjaden Giles and Mikayla Berg each went 3-0 in singles.

Moapa Valley 14, Chaparral 4 — At Overton, Aubrey Aikele went 3-0 in singles to lead the Pirates over the Cowboys.

Averee Widdison and Courtney Zerkle were 3-0 in doubles for Moapa Valley.

Chaparral’s Karina Cosentino was 2-1 in singles.

Bonanza 14, Legacy 4 — At Legacy, Rachel Perez-Soto and Jenalyn Silver went 2-0 in doubles to lead the Bengals past the Longhorns.

Kelsey Spence went 2-1 in singles for Bonanza.

Italia Jones was 3-0 in singles to lead Legacy.

Palo Verde 16, Cimarron-Memorial 2 — At Cimarron, Jalen Keller was 3-0 in singles in the Panthers’ win over the Spartans.

Adesuwa Aigbe and Jessica Wu went 2-0 in doubles for Palo Verde.

Cimarron’s Aaliyah Hanley beat Palo Verde’s top singles player, and Amber Calhoun won the Spartans’ other point.

Valley 15, Virgin Valley 3 — At Valley, Julia Vargas and Mirca Hernandez-Carmona finished 3-0 in doubles to lead the Vikings past the Bulldogs.

Bishop Gorman 17, Silverado 1 — At Gorman, Marci Adolfo and Caitlin Ng teamed to go 2-0 in doubles as the Gaels blitzed the Skyhawks.

Arbor View 17, Las Vegas 1 — At Las Vegas, Charlene Maupin and Marta Suardiaz-Samaniego each went 3-0 in singles play to lead the Aggies past the Wildcats.

Faith Lutheran 18, Eldorado 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Jade Mayweather was 2-0 in singles as the Crusaders shut out the Sundevils.

The doubles teams of Summer Stadtlander and Kelsie Seigle, Greer DeBoni and Kenadee Semenik, and Chloe Pollack and Courtney Martin each went 2-0.

Desert Pines 15, Rancho 3 — At Desert Pines, the Jaguars beat the Rams.

Centennial 12, Canyon Springs 0 — At Centennial, the Bulldogs beat the Pioneers by forfeit.

Shadow Ridge 12, Cheyenne 0 — At Shadow Ridge, the Mustangs defeated the Desert Shields by forfeit.

Spring Valley 12, Tech 0 — At Spring Valley, the Grizzlies beat the Roadrunners by forfeit.

Adelson School 12, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, the Lions defeated the Miners.
