Roundup: Moapa Valley boys edge Faith Lutheran

Slade Graham and Jake Leavitt teamed to go 3-0 in doubles on Saturday to lead Moapa Valley’s boys tennis team to a 10-9 win over Faith Lutheran at Darling Tennis Center.

Chase Hadley was 2-1 in singles for the Pirates, who topped the Crusaders 4-2 on a tiebreaker.

Blake Kelly was 3-0 in singles for Faith Lutheran.

Faith Lutheran 11, Bishop Gorman 7 — At Darling Tennis Center, Kenneth Dobrev went 3-0 in singles to help the Crusaders top the Gaels.

The doubles teams of Taylor Pettigrew and Blake Kelly, and Stephen Dobrev and Hayden Coffing each went 3-0 for Faith Lutheran.

Bishop Gorman 14, Moapa Valley 4 — At Darling Tennis Center, Frankie Ward and Sig Rogich went 2-0 in doubles to lead the Gaels over the Pirates.

Max Wolfson was 2-0 in singles for Gorman.

GIRLS

Faith Lutheran 10, Bishop Gorman 9 — At Darling Tennis Center, Kennedy Barr and Arianna VAnHouweling went 3-0 in doubles as the Crusaders edged the Gaels on a tiebreaker.

Barr and VanHouweling won their tiebreaker, as did singles players Mira Filiberti, Kenadee Semenik and Jade Mayweather to help Faith Lutheran to a 4-2 advantage and the win.

Filiberti, Semenik and Mayweatehr each went 2-1 for Faith Lutheran

Angelique Friedrich was 3-0 in singles for Gorman.

Faith Lutheran 17, Moapa Valley 1 — At Darling Tennis Center, Kennedy Barr and Arianna VanHouweling each went 2-0 in singles to lead the Crusaders over the Pirates.

Isabelle Cottingham and Megan Parrish went 2-0 in doubles for the Crusaders.

Aubrey Cooper and Lara Bingisser picked up Moapa Valley’s point, going 1-0 in doubles.
