Roundup: Tanner Lester leads Foothill past Silverado

Tanner Lester had 11 kills and 11 digs Tuesday to lead Foothill’s boys volleyball team over visiting Silverado, 24-26, 25-15, 27-25, 25-17.

Richard Reid added 15 kills for Foothill. Troy Bell had 13 digs, and Truss Erb had four kills and four block for the Falcons.

Jon Francis had 14 kills and 15 digs for Silverado. Sean Borla had six kills and 10 digs, and teammate Bravyn Aquino had 23 assists for the Skyhawks.

Cheyenne 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Jonah Lunn had nine kills, and Brian Orellana had 28 assists and three aces as the Desert Shields defeated the Miners, 25-14, 25-22, 28-26.

Brandon Wilcoxson added five kills for Cheyenne.

Anthony Proby-Jenson and Emerald Acasili each had five kills for Sunrise Mountain. Giovani Mosqueda added 12 digs and two aces for the Miners.

Mojave 3, Tech 0 — At Tech, Nathaniel Arredondo had 27 assists to help the Rattlers beat the Roadrunners, 25-12, 25-17, 25-13.

Daronde McKinney had nine kills for Mojave, and teammate Samuel Torrence had five kills.

Andrew Luong had seven digs for Tech, and Eddy Garcia had six kills.

Las Vegas 3, Valley 0 — At Valley, Kevin Sweitzer had 18 assists and six digs to guide the Wildcats to a 25-14, 25-17, 25-18 win over the Vikings.

Shaun Kampshoff had 13 assists and six kills, and Leander Gates had 13 kills for Las Vegas.

Sam Karganilla had 13 assists and seven digs for Valley.

Rancho 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Rancho, Brennan Berti had 12 kills and three blocks in a 29-27, 25-8, 25-8 victory over the Pioneers.

Kenny Oak added eight kills and four blocks, and teammate Jesus Gonzalez had 19 assists for the Rams.

Basic 3, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Skylar Freitas had 10 kills as the Wolves waltzed to a 25-13, 25-15, 25-23 victory over the Sundevils.

Taulima DeVoux added 11 assists and six blocks for Basic.

Dahlton Stack had eight kills, and Adrian Evans had six kills and four aces for Eldorado.

Del Sol 3, Western 0 — At Del Sol, Alejandro Marin had 12 kills and eight digs to help the Dragons beat the Warriors, 25-17, 25-10, 25-18.

Angel Vargas had 15 assists and seven digs for Del Sol. James Malcolm had seven kills and two blocks, and Joseph Snure had five kills and two blocks for the Dragons.

Javier Silva had 12 kills and and three aces to lead Western. Bernardo Jimenez-Pascual had two kills and 10 assists, and Jason McCoy had four kills for the Warriors.

Chaparral 3, Boulder City 2 — At Boulder City, the Cowboys outlasted the Eagles, 22-25, 25-14, 25-17, 11-25, 16-14.

Preston Jorgensen had 14 kills for Boulder City, which got 13 kills from Karson Bailey.

Sky Pointe 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, the Eagles swept the Jaguars, 25-14, 25-18, 25-14.

All-state teams in all eight spring sports will be released one per day, beginning on June 6 with boys golf.
