VOLLEYBALL: Tech outlasts Western

Haakon Hunsaker had four kills to lead Tech’s boys volleyball team past Western 25-19, 19-25, 25-19, 27-25 on Thursday.

Collin Faught had 13 assists, and Devin Wade had three kills for the Roadrunners.

Anthony Dodson had 19 kills to lead Western.

Brandon Grajeda had 10 kills, and Justin Jones dished out 24 assists for the Warriors.

Foothill 3, Sierra Vista 1 — At Foothill, Caleb Stearman provided 39 assists, eight digs and five blocks to power the Falcons to a 21-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-12 victory over the Mountain Lions.

Troy Bell had 22 assists, and Tanner Lester notched 10 kills and eight digs for Foothill.

Chris McCoy led Sierra Vista with 11 kills, eight digs and five blocks. Chevy Eliu had nine digs, and Lerone Gibson supplied nine kills for the Mountain Lions.

Las Vegas 3, Rancho 0 — At Rancho, Shaun Kampshoff had 10 kills, four blocks and 17 assists to lead the Wildcats past the Rams, 25-18, 25-8, 25-12.

Romeo Gray had seven kills and three blocks, and Brandon Kampshoff had nine kills for Las Vegas.

Brennan Berti had six kills and two blocks to lead Rancho. Tristan King had four kills and four blocks for the Rams.

Valley 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Valley, Mel Dinogan had 15 assists in the Vikings 25-12, 25-17, 25-16 victory over the Pioneers.

Isaac Frazier had 13 kills, and Justin Sandoval added 11 assists for Valley, which got five aces from Juan De Dios-Magana.

Cheyenne 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Cheyenne, Brian Orellana had 19 assists, and Tyler Buchanan added 11 kills to lead the Desert Shields to a 25-17, 25-22, 25-9 sweep of the Jaguars.

Joshua Moran had 10 assists, and teammate Ricardo Acuna supplied five digs and five blocks to lead Desert Pines.

Mojave 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Mojave, Joseph Silva had 14 kills, and Antonyo Wright added 12 kills in the Rattlers’ 25-20, 25-12, 25-17 sweep of the Miners.

Michael Jones dished out 33 assists for Mojave.

Desert Oasis 3, Clark 0 — At Clark, Joshua Sadama had 16 assists, and teammate Liam Morrissey added seven kills in the Diamondbacks’ 25-10, 25-13, 25-17 sweep of the Chargers.

Bonanza 3, Spring Valley 0 — At Spring Valley, Paolo Luchs had 13 kills and four aces to lead the Bengals to a 25-16, 25-22, 25-20 victory over the Grizzlies.

James Mead had 34 assists and three aces, and Mataio Valoaja added 10 kills for Bonanza, which got seven kills and four blocks from Kadin Warner.

Mariano Saucedo had 16 digs, three aces and two kills to lead Spring Valley. Jakob Repolio added eight solo blocks and three kills, and Syed Husain had 13 digs for the Grizzlies.

Del Sol 3, Chaparral 0 — At Chaparral, Nathaniel Barton had 14 kills as the Dragons defeated the Cowboys, 25-23, 25-16, 25-22.

Alan Flores-Ramos added 16 assists, and Yerovys Vargas-Gil had six kills for Del Sol.

Ben Kirschbaum led Chaparral with 12 kills. Sam Realica added 22 assists for the Cowboys.

All-state teams in all eight spring sports will be released one per day, beginning on June 6 with boys golf.
