Motorcyclist who died in crash Tuesday worked for Las Vegas television station KSNV

The motorcyclist who died after a collision with another vehicle on Interstate 15 near the D Street offramp worked for a local television station.

According to KSNV-TV, Philip Honable, 43, was a director on the production team at the NBC affiliate.

“I am so sorry to let you know Philip Honable was killed today in a motorcycle accident. If there’s one thing we all know Phil loved life. He was one of the most positive energetic spirits on our staff. His passing is an incredible loss to us all,” Mark Neerman, KSNV news director, said in an email.

He leaves behind a wife, a daughter in high school and a son at the United States Air Force Academy, the station said.

The crash happened about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday when a white Yamaha motorcycle driven by Honable and a green Chevrolet Suburban collided, Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Chelsea Stuenkel said.

Stuenkel said Honable died at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet did not suffer any injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
