Rival nightclub raises money for Orlando’s Pulse staff following fatal shootings — VIDEO

Hundreds of supporters of Orlando’s Pulse nightclub, the scene of a mass shooting that killed 49 people, jammed Southern Nights Orlando, a smaller rival club, to raise money for the Pulse staff.

More than 40 performers, most of them popular drag queens that regularly perform in Central Florida, sang and lip-synced through three sets Wednesday night, raising thousands of dollars.

Organizers noted that several benefits have been scheduled to raise money for the victims of the Pulse shootings and their families, but little has been done for the nightclub’s staff, which has been out of work since the tragedy.

A loud and receptive crowd cheered through the night, filling boxes with dollar bills and tipping each performer, who added to the pot.

Security was tight for the event and dozens of fans waited outside the door to get in after the club reached capacity.
