Roy Wilson’s art brings smiles to young patients at the Children’s Medical Center at Summerlin Hospital Medical Center. A former animator for Disney and Hanna-Barbera, Wilson created 26 character illustrations on vinyl to decorate the hospital’s hallways.

Eldorado grad to retire after 24 years in U.S. Air Force

Master Sgt. Tonya C. Freeman, a 1984 graduate of Eldorado High School, is scheduled to retire after 24 years of service in the U.S. Air Force. A retirement ceremony is scheduled at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Conference Center at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif. A reception is set to follow in the Looking Glass Room.

Ganesha Center pursues nonprofit status in expanded spirit sanctuary

“The truth is that we’ve always run under the mind-set of a nonprofit,” said Lee Papa, founder of the Ganesha Center at the Longford Plaza East Office Park, 3199 E. I have lived in Summerlin/Las Vegas since July 2011, and something has been puzzling me ever since I relocated to this beautiful place: Dog owners, why don’t you pick up after your dog? It would take less than five minutes, and the city even provides bags and waste stations at regular points along trails and in the green spaces.
