Las Vegas morning update for Monday, September 18th — VIDEO

Here are your Monday morning headlines:

1. A Henderson man won $10 million on a Megabucks slot machine at Fiesta Henderson Saturday. The man, only identified as Roger, moved to Henderson a few months ago and said he frequents casinos. Roger said he didn’t know he had won anything until a casino attendant told him.

2. Officials say the Las Vegas valley needs to be prepared for disasters. While Las Vegans shouldn’t worry about hurricanes like the ones recently seen in Texas and Florida, representatives with American Red Cross suggest locals be most prepared for terrorist threats and earthquakes.

3. Twenty-four people were indicted last week in connection with a massive scheme to stage car crashes. Officials say the scheme would involve two cars, one following the other, and the two cars would get in front of a victim vehicle and brake suddenly to cause a collision. The indictment states that more than 20 fraudulent insurance claims were filed, totaling around $500,000.
