Las Vegas morning update for Wednesday, December 27th — VIDEO

Here are your Wednesday morning headlines:

1. A couple is hospitalized after a violent home invasion and robbery in the central valley Wednesday morning. Police say three men armed with knives broke into a home on Holbrook Drive near Flamingo and Lindell and attacked the homeowners, a man in his 70s and his wife in her 60s. The robbers took items from the home and stole the couple’s 2017 Tesla Model S. The couple is expected to survive and police are still looking for the robbers.

2. One man’s holiday travel plans hit a snag after airport officials found a dead cougar in his luggage. The cougar had a Utah State Fishing and Gaming tag and the man ended up shipping the cougar, not on the airplane. Airport officials say it is not a crime to transport game that is legal to possess through airlines, but airlines reserve the right to tell passengers they don’t want to transport certain items.

3. The Clark County district attorney’s office said Tuesday that a lack of evidence failed to link a woman, now accused of killing her three roommates, to a murder in 2014. Bonnie Marie Rice was killed in Sept. 2014 and Christine Sanchez was arrested shortly after. However, the trial was canceled in Jan. 2017 and was officially dismissed in June. Sanchez was booked on three murder counts Saturday after her three roommates were found dead Friday with multiple gunshot wounds.
