The senior won the Desert Region race at the Red Rock Running Invitational at Floyd Lamb Park. Chavez covered the 3-mile course in 18 minutes, 17 seconds.

The junior rushed for 299 yards and six touchdowns on 42 carries in a 40-26 victory over Valley.
