Boise State linebacker Leighton Vander Esch created havoc at Sam Boyd Stadium with a game-high 12 tackles to lead the Broncos to a 38-28 victory over Oregon on Saturday.
The Ducks were limited to 47 yards on 28 carries in a 38-28 loss to Boise State after racking up 268 yards per game during the season, a number that ranked eighth in the nation.
Boise State senior wide receiver Cedrick Wilson caught 10 passes for 221 yards and a touchdown against Oregon and was named MVP of the Las Vegas Bowl. He also set the school’s single-season record with 1,511 yards receiving.
There were signs even before kickoff that Saturday’s Las Vegas Bowl might evolve into a comedy of errors.
