Former Gov. Bob Miller to publish memoirs next year

Former Nevada Gov. Bob Miller is writing a book about his life entitled, “Son of a Gambling Man.” The Democrat who served as governor from 1989-99 says his memoirs are scheduled to be published next year by Thomas Dunne Books, a division of St. Martin’s Press.

An article published in the Jan. 29 Review-Journal said U.S. Attorney Daniel Bogden had offered probation to mortgage broker Joseph Manfredonia in return for a guilty plea on fraud charges. In fact, the Department of Justice recommended 37 months in prison but U.S. District Judge Philip Pro instead chose house arrest and supervised release.
